Homemade Coconut Sugar Scrub Recipe

Ingredients:

1/2 cup coconut oil (extra virgin, if possible)

1/4 cup shea butter

1 cup granulated sugar (you can use white or brown sugar)

1/4 cup coconut sugar (for added exfoliation and scent)

Optional:

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for fragrance)

5-10 drops of essential oil of your choice (lavender, peppermint, or lemon work well)

1 tablespoon vitamin E oil (for extra skin nourishment)

Instructions:

Prepare the Ingredients:

Measure out the coconut oil and shea butter. If the shea butter is too hard, you can soften it by placing it in a microwave-safe bowl and microwaving it in short bursts until it becomes soft. Combine the granulated sugar and coconut sugar in a separate bowl.

Mix the Ingredients:

In a mixing bowl, combine the softened shea butter and coconut oil. Use a hand mixer or a fork to blend them together until you achieve a smooth consistency.

If you're adding vanilla extract, essential oils, or vitamin E oil, incorporate them into the mixture and blend well.

Add the Sugars:

Gradually add the sugar mixture to the coconut oil and shea butter mixture. Stir well until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined. Adjust the sugar amount to achieve your desired scrub consistency.

Store the Scrub:

Transfer the coconut sugar scrub into a clean, airtight container. A glass jar works well for this purpose. Make sure to seal the container tightly to prevent moisture from entering.

Store the scrub in a cool, dry place. It should keep well for several weeks, but always check for any signs of spoilage before use.

How to Use:

Wet your skin with warm water to soften it.

Take a small amount of the coconut sugar scrub and apply it to your skin.

Gently massage the scrub onto your skin in circular motions, focusing on rough or dry areas.

Rinse off the scrub with warm water.

Pat your skin dry with a towel.

Follow up with a moisturiser if needed.

Enjoy your homemade coconut sugar scrub for smooth and nourished skin! Remember to perform a patch test before using any new skincare product, especially if you have sensitive skin.
